Technical experience

Kubernetes and open source solutions
Since 2020

Intensive involvement with Kubernetes, including VMware Tanzu and open source products such as SUSE Rancher, Longhorn and Harvester. Building proof-of-concept environments and implementing them in enterprise infrastructures.

VMware and virtualization technologies
Since 1999

Working with VMware products, starting with VMware Workstation for Linux. This early experience laid the foundation for in-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies.

vSphere automation: Since 2013, use of Aria (vRealize) Orchestrator for the automation of vSphere environments.

VMware Aria Automation: From 2007, focus on VMware solutions in the enterprise environment, with the combination of Aria Automation and Orchestrator, especially in banking and cloud provider environments.

VMware Horizon View and desktop virtualization technologies since the early years of my VMware career.

Experience with NSX-V and NSX-T:

Beginning with basic work in NSX-V from 2015 in order to increasingly use NSX-T in conjunction with Aria Automation and Tanzu from 2020. Conducting courses and consultations.

Development of VMware training courses:

Creation and implementation of comprehensive training programs for VMware products.

Focus on practical content and direct applicability for participants.

Responsibilities:

Implementation of ‘Train the Trainer’ programs.
Mentoring new trainers.
Development of new course content and curricula.

Linux Technologies
1996 – 2006

Intensive work with Linux-based technologies, including the development of customized firewall, anti-spam, intrusion detection and VPN solutions. Extensive experience in building and maintaining secure network infrastructures using various Linux distributions.

Microsoft Technologies
1982 – 2007

Working with all versions of Windows, heavily involved in Active Directory and Exchange Server projects, including design, implementation and migration of NT4 solutions.

Software development
Early career

Focus on software development, including programming in Assembler, BASIC, C and Clipper.

Development of merchandise management systems as well as medical laboratory billing and data acquisition/evaluation systems.

Retraining initiatives and technology rollout

1995 – 2000

Management of retraining programs for a large company to introduce career changers from various fields into the IT world. The training courses included IT basics, introductions to programming, network technology, security concepts and emerging web technologies.
